PMD Personal Microderm

Hello!
I am back with a new post on my blog. Life has been pretty hectic so I have not had the time to update my blog and post reviews on some of the products I have received but I am here tonight to update you on one of the products I have been using for a while now..
which is the..

PMD
(Personal Microderm)

As someone who has dealt with severe acne problems and have been trying to fight it for many years, ever since I was a teen, I can say I have spent hundreds and hundreds of $$$ on skin care products and chemical peels. My main goal was to get rid of the acne and since that is slowly getting cured, my main concern now is the texture of my skin I am left with after going through so many skin problems.
As I have mentioned before, I am now left with many scars on my face because of the hyper-pigmentation an messing with my pimples. I have been doing research for a long time and looking into different microdermabrasions that I can get done so I can have that beautiful, young looking skin again with no scarring.
One day, I came across this PMD that is similar to the ones they use in the doctors offices.
The only difference is that this is MUCH cheaper because it saves you A LOT of money from going to the doctors office and using their thousands of dollars worth machines.
The PMD is basically the same thing doctors use in their office because it uses the SAME aluminum oxide crystals that they use. What makes this easier is that, it is an at home thing you do and is not harmful. It works well on surface blemishes and smooths uneven skin texture giving you younger, vibrant and glowing skin.

Lets go ahead and get into further details about the PMD..

I was sent this by @pmdpersonalmicroderm on instagram to review and here I am right now about to go into detail on how this thing works and if it worked for me or not.
Before I begin, let me just say that this will be an honest review and I am not getting paid to do this. They were kind enough to send it to me to share with my followers on how it works and I kindly accepted the offer to try it and see if it is something I would recommend to my friends and followers.
So lets begin..

Website: www.getpmd.com
Name: PMD Personal Microderm
Price: $179.00
(it is on sale right now for $159.00)
Code: 'sahira15'
(this is my code which will give you a 15% discount and it will be good through March 1st)

It looks like this

It is lightweight and has a cord with it that you plug in the socket for it to turn on.
When I first turned it on, it made a really scary noise and I got scared. I was really hesitant to use it but it had to be done. After using it for a while, you will get used to it and it wont seem as bad.

Now, the picture above is the PMD all set up. When you first open the box, it will look like this,

So you get:
- 1 PMD
- 2 Caps
- 7 discs

These are the caps and discs
TOP- caps
BOTTOM- discs

The caps are two different sizes because each is used for a different purpose.
The right one, which is the cap with the bigger hole, is used for the body.
The left one, which is the cap with the smaller hole, is used for the face.

In order to decide which cap you will use with the discs, you need to pay attention to the disc sizes because they are also different sizes and colors.
The size tells you where to use it and the color tells you the sensitivity of the PMD.
There are 7 discs in total.
1 white
4 blue
2 green

The white one is to test the skin tolerance and to practice using the PMD. Since it is the thin one, therefore you use the cap with the smaller hole because it is for the face.

The 4 blue ones are used for sensitive skin which is the first level abrasion.
The two thin ones on the sides are for the face and the two thicker and shorter ones in the middle are used for the body.

The 2 green discs are used for medium level abrasion and that means if you get used to the sensitive discs, you may move onto the medium level.
There is 1 thin one for the face and 1 short, thick one for the body.

Those are the parts to the PMD and now I will move onto how you set it up!

So you take the PMD, choose your disc and according to the disc you have chosen, you get the cap.
In this picture, you see the PMD, the blue thinner disc and the cap with the smaller hole because we are putting the PMD together to use on the face. I use the blue disc because my skin is very sensitive so I want to get used to it before I move a level up.

You take the disc and attach it to the PMD. Make sure it is secured on tight.

Then, you take the cap and twist it on making sure it is fit and firmly against the black ring on the PMD.
So this is what we have..
The PMD is ready to use and make sure you plug in the power cord at the bottom of the tool to turn it on.

One very important thing to pay attention to is which cap goes with which disc and that the disc is not exactly lined up with the cap, but it has to be a little below it or else you will damage your skin.
Remember,
the thinner discs go with the smaller cap which is used on the face

and
the thicker discs go with the bigger cap which is used on the body

USING THE DEVICE

Step 1
Before you start using the PMD, take the white disc and test it on the back of your neck or arm so that your skin gets used to it because it does suck your skin when you are using it, and do not worry, when I say it 'sucks' your skin, it does not take in your skin lol it just kind of pulls it as you glide the PMD on your face.

Step 2:
Make sure your face is completely clean and free of any oils and makeup.
You use your hand to pull the skin tight in the area you will be treating.

Step 3:
Take the PMD and move it in an upward motion across the skin. Please note that you DO NOT pass the PMD more than two times over the same area.

Step 4:
Once you are done treating the area you want, use a toner and/or a recovery moisturizer because the skin will be very sensitive after using the PMD.

Step 5:
Let your skin recover and wait about a week until your next treatment.

Those are the simple steps to using the Personal Microderm and just make sure that you disassemble the PMD by taking off the cap and disc, then cleaning both with rubbing alcohol or an antibacterial soap.

There are many DO's and DON'Ts that you need to know but since this is a review on the product, I will not go through them because there is a lot of information and if you would like to check it out, please do visit the website at www.getpmd.com

MY OPINION

I used it for two months and at first I thought that nothing was happening but that is because I was being impatient and would look at my face after every use and didn't see much of a difference. I was expecting results right away which is obviously impossible. So I continued using it and slowly and gradually, my scars started to fade and I could see my skin improving. I have stopped spending so much money on skin care products and just use this PMD which has honestly helped a lot. I feel very confident and feel great about how my skin looks and feels. It feels as if I have smooth, vibrant skin like I did before I started breaking out. Let me point out that I did look into other reviews on the PMD before using it and let me be honest, some of them really scared me because there were some reviews on YouTube that were complaining about it and had skin disasters.I was really hesitant and thought a lot before using it but I wanted to give it a try at least once or twice. I did and I am glad i made the decision on using it because it did wonders for my skin and I barely breakout now. My scars which used to be VERY dark and red have now gotten really really light and are fading.
Before I did not want to go out in public without covering my scars and breakouts but now that my skin is improving, I can happily say that you will see me out with very little or no makeup on at all.
The Personal Microderm has not only healed my acne scars but has also reduced the appearance of fine lines and enlarged pores and I have seen those results after using it for JUST 2 months!!
If I had to rate it, I would give it 5 stars and a thumbs up. It may be pricey to some but it is totally worth it and compared to what you have to pay at the doctors office, the price of the PMD is Nothing!

If you want younger looking skin without paying for high priced office treatments, then the Personal Microderm (PMD) is the right tool for you.

The Treasures Box Organizers

Hey Babes!
Tonight I am going to be sharing a few other makeup organizers I received and these ones were sent to me by +Treasures Box
I had SO many lipsticks and lipglosses still lying everywhere and inside different boxes so they were kind enough to send me TWO lipstick holders and a small makeup storage box with drawers.

First, I will show you what they look like and then I will do a little review on them so if you would like to purchase them, you will know whether they are worth purchasing or not.

This is what I got:

2 Lipstick Holders
1 Storage Box

The lipstick holders are really good quality and wont break easily if you take really good care of them. They are thick and clear. They fit 24 lipsticks.

I have so many lipglosses so most of what I fit in the lipstick holders are lipglosses and some lipsticks

I am very impressed with the lipstick holders and they fit almost all of my lip products. I will definitely need more of these. Amazing quality and they look great on my vanity.

Here is the storage box I also got

It has 4 drawers and its pretty small. It it not one of those big makeup boxes but I like it because it fits perfectly on my vanity.
The only thing I didn't like about this one was that when I received it, it was cracked in the back and the top was moving a lot. I try not to mess with it too much because it is VERY delicate and if you drop it, it will definitely break. The quality is not so good with this one but I like how I fit a lot of my makeup in it.

Here is what I stored in each drawer of this little +Treasures Box

The first drawer has my blushes and highlighters from +NYX Cosmetics and +Motives Cosmetics and +MAC Cosmetics

The second drawer has some random things such as eyeshadows, eyebrow powder, eyeliners, an glitter pots

The third drawer has all my LA Girl Concealers

The last drawer which is the 4th one and it has my Stila cosmetics color correcting sticks and a +Motives Cosmetics concealer and primer.

So yeah it did fit a lot of my makeup that did not have any storage but I just think the quality of this is not too good. However, the lipstick holders are amazing and I will definitely give those 5 stars!
They do have many other sizes available on their website and you can also check out their instagram which is @thetreasuresbox

Thank You!
xoxo

My Makeup Vanity

Hello Hunnies,
After years of wanting my own room, I finally got it!
YES!
Ever since I really got into makeup which was about 3 years ago,
I have always wanted my own makeup vanity. I mean which girl doesn't want her own makeup vanity?!
I have seen a lot of makeup vanities that many girls made themselves and that is because buying ready made ones are WAY too expensive but if you are willing to spend a lot of $$$ on those then good on you! I would only buy a really nice expensive one if I had like my own separate makeup room which I will have in the future in'sha'Allah.
I am the DIY type and it is actually fun making your own vanity.
You just have to make sure that you are buying good quality items and you have someone to help you.

I got everything from +IKEA USA
You will need:

-a table
-wall lamps
-mirror

That is what you need to make your makeup vanity.

I got the MICKE table in black/brown which looks like this and it was $69.99. Not a bad price because the table is really nice and a pretty decent size. Just make sure you have someone helping you put it together because you have to do it yourself and most importantly be CAREFUL!

The one thing I wish it did have was extra drawers on the side maybe because I still have a lot of my makeup that needs storage but besides that, I am in love with my table.

Now for the lights,
I got the wall lamps and they are also from +IKEA USA
They are called the MUSIK wall lamps and they are $14.99 each. It does NOT come with the bulbs. You have to purchase the bulbs separately which you can also find at IKEA or any other place such as Wal-Mart, Lowes, Home Depot, etc.

You need two of these MUSIK wall lamps and that means you will need 10 light bulbs but you have to make sure that you are buying the right bulbs. I bought the 40W because that is what it said on the box. I got mine from +Lowe's Home Improvement and I do not know exactly how much I got them for but they were like 2 for $5 and I got 10 in clear. I forgot the brand I am sorry! :(
Since these are made for bathrooms and not bedrooms, there is a different way to install them because of the wiring in the back of the lamps. I wont go into detail about the wiring but to help me, I went on YouTube and saw a video of how to set up the MUSIK wall lamps for my vanity. You will need two base switch cords that are usually for lamps in order to get the lights to come on. It is a long process and if you want me to explain in detail about it, I can do another post on just the MUSIK lights for setting up your vanity. I am just trying to keep it short here and share with you what I got to make my makeup vanity.

Last but no least, you will need a mirror. You can get any size you want. I got mine from IKEA and it is the KOLJA mirror which was $9.99 which is a great price for a mirror. The size is 24" on all sides which is also the size of the lamps so it is perfect.

I first put my table together and took it into my room. Then I put up the mirror with the help of my dad. Once the mirror was up, we put up the lights on both sides of the mirror.

The end result was this below

I have not bought my chair yet but I think I am liking this. I am going to need a chair though because my back hurts sometimes and I do know which chair I will be getting.
I am also not completely done setting up my makeup and everything on the table because I still have lipglosses and makeup that I want to put in a acrylic organizer so I can get rid of that old black makeup organizer on the left. It looks old and I think acrylic organizers look better on makeup vanities.

Here is a picture of how the vanity looks with the lights on

For the pictures on the wall on the side of each wall lamp, I printed +Hayden Williams drawings because I love them so much! He is an amazing artist and has many beautiful drawings of stylish women and celebrities. I just got glitter paper from the Dollar Tree and frames from there too and cut the drawings to fit in the frames and hung them up! Simple.

My vanity table has two drawers, one which has all my makeup palettes and the other which has all my lashes

Love how all my palettes and lashes fit in each drawer and how they look.
I do however need extra drawers and/or storage for the rest of my makeup because two drawers is not enough for me.
Overall, I love how my vanity turned out and I literally spend all my day in front of it when I am home lol

I hope you like it and if you have any questions regarding my vanity or if you are trying to set your own vanity, please do ask. I will be more than happy to help as much as I can.
Thank You!
xoxo

Huda Beauty Lashes UPDATE! Samantha and Giselle

After waiting for so long, +Huda Kattan lashes are finally available worldwide and you can now purchase them online. They are so popular and wanted by many girls and MUAS. I fell in love with them when I first made my makeup instagram (makeupbysahira) and was following +Huda Kattan
She had a giveaway which I had won and received 5 pairs of her lashes.
They are very pretty and are a bit pricey but I promise you, they are worth every penny because you can use them over and over again if you take really good care of them and they look amazing when you put them on.

She recently came out with new ones called SAMANTHA and they are the 3D lashes.
I have been dying to get my hands on them because they are just so perfect.
I got really lucky and finally got them.
My dad was coming back from work and had a stop in Dubai for a few hours so he called and I took advantage of his stay and told him to go to the Dubai mall and get me some +Huda Kattan lashes from Sephora. He was kind enough to go there and get me and my sisters 3 pairs of lashes each.
We all got:

Samantha
Giselle
Coco Jo

I have shared Coco Jo in my previous post when I won them in the giveaway. Still happy I got them but I was really excited about Giselle and mostly Samantha because I didn't have those two pairs.

I LOVE the packaging. It is so cute and of course they are the beautiful +Huda Kattan eyes.

Giselle are the #1
Samantha are the #7

The top ones are the SAMANTHA ones and the bottom ones are the GISELLE ones.

Closer look of the SAMANTHA lashes and a look I have used them in

They are just really gorgeous and definitely my favorite pair from all her lashes.

These ones below are the GISELLE ones and a look using them as well.

The GISELLE lashes kind of remind me of the Ardell demi wispies lashes.
Here is a look I have done for my instagram page using these beautiful lashes.

I had to have these lashes on my vanity so I went to +Staples and purchased this card holder for the lashes so I can have them on my makeup vanity.
It is super cute and make my vanity look amazing.

I am so happy and feel lucky to have all of +Huda Kattan lashes because they are gorgeous lashes and long lasting if you take really good care of them. I take care of them like my babies hehe because they are not available here in the US and I just cannot spend so much online just for lashes.
Every time someone in my family has a stop in Dubai, I make sure I tell them to get me these lovely lashes. She also came out with stick on nails which are also very pretty but I have not gotten the chance to get my hands on those. Most definitely I will next time anyone ever visits.

+Huda Kattan is a BEAUTIFUL woman who runs an amazing blog, is a celebrity makeup artist and the proud owner of these Huda Beauty lashes and I am one of the lucky girls to own all the lashes she has. They will always be my top lashes in my collection of lashes I have.
If you haven't checked out their website yet, go to shophudabeauty.com to purchase your +Huda Kattan lashes now!

byAlegory Organizers

Hi Dolls!
It has been way too long since I last visited my blog to update it. I have been so busy will college, I barely have time to keep up with my makeup page. However, I will now make sure I can squeeze in time to keep this blog updated and share lots of wonderful things with you all.

Todays post will be dedicated to +byAlegory™  and their lovely organizers.
I have lots and lots of makeup that need organizers especially my lipsticks and lipglosses.
+byAlegory™  were very kind enough to send me 2 acrylic organizers of my choice.
They allowed me to choose 2 of my choice and the colors.

I chose the 24 space lipstick organizer and the 10 space paint pot/cream shadow organizer.
I would have chosen the lipgloss organizer but they did not have that available but either way, I am very grateful for even receiving these beauties they sent me.

This is what the lipstick holder looks like. It is in purple clear and I absolutely love it. It holds 24 lipsticks and looks amazing on my vanity.
The quality is amazing. You can tell they are not of cheap quality and are really thick and shiny.
If your are looking into these then I would rate them 10/10.

And after adding the lipsticks, it looks like this

I added my +MAC Cosmetics lipsticks, wet & wild, foufou cosmetics lipsticks (@foufoucosmetics on instagram) and SCK lipsticks (@sck_sckcosmetics on instagram), and also my YSL lipstick.

The paint pot/cream eyeshadow holder is also very handy and fits 10 items.
It looks like this

I also got this in purple clear only because purple is my favorite color.
I put my @stilacosmetics magnificent metals foil finish eyeshadow pots in it and a @myvidalux glitter pot and also a +Motives Cosmetics glitter pot

I am very thankful to +byAlegory™ for sending me these amazing, high quality organizers for my makeup. They are really shiny and wont break easily. I recommend them to anyone that is looking for makeup organizers. I know +eBay has many too but sometimes what you order from them is not what you expected when you actually get the item. I have seen many reviews on the +byAlegory™ organizers and they were always good. I appreciate them reaching out to me and giving me a chance to check out their items and I have to say I am really happy with them.
I give them 5 stars!!!

Thank you +byAlegory™ for making my vanity look amazing with your beautiful organizers!
xoxo

LUSH Cosmetics

Hello!
It has been a while since I last updated my blog. Sorry, I have been extremely busy with family and college (finals and all that stress ahh!!) But when that is all over, I will keep my blog updated. :)

Today, I would like to share some other skin care products that I have been obsessing over. I know most of my posts are about skin but I have bad skin so I will do anything to keep you guys updated with what helps me because I know I'm not the only one who deals with annoying skin problems.
Don't we all wish that we just woke up with perfectly clear skin.. sigh.. yeah that will never happen.
I will not give up though because taking care of your skin is very important and if there is something out there that works for you then why not share with everyone.. you never know you might be saving someone from skin disaster! That is why I would like to share with you my two favorite products from +LushCosmetics
I would always hear about their products from friends and family around and then my sister started using them. She told me how good their products are and told me to try them out but I was too scared and thought it would worsen my skin. I didn't want to try anything because my skin is VERY sensitive so it doesn't really like many products and I was not about to end up with bad acne problems again. I also thought.. "their products are cheap, who knows if they'll work good"
sadly.. I judged too quickly :(

Before I say anything about the products..

EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT SKIN SO NOT EVERYTHING I USE WILL WORK ON YOU AND NOT EVERYTHING YOU USE WILL WORK ON ME...

but I just want to share something that has worked for me because nothing usually does work for my skin so if this product was used by you before and disappointed you, I'm sorry!

Sooo.. after seeing my sisters skin improving and her skin is way different than mine.. but seeing her improvements, I thought why not give them a try. So I went to LUSH in the mall near me and the lovely lady was really helpful. She asked me about my skin and I told her every problem I have with my skin. I told her I have oily skin, I break out easily, have scars from past acne problems, and overall it is just very sensitive. Then she made me sit down next to a bowl with water in it and brought the FRESH FARMACY cleanser and the OCEAN SALT scrub.
She took my right hand and used the soap and was explaining about what is inside it and how it helps.. it was really interesting. After she washed my hands using both of the soap and scrub on each hand, my hands felt like a baby's butt!! HAHA seriously, it felt amazing and I couldn't stop touching it. Right away, I told her I'll take both of them. It was like love at first sight but in this case it was love at first touch lol

Here are what the two products look like and a little about them:

This is the cleansing soap called FRESH FARMACY.
This is my favorite product by them for the face. They give it you in the amount of money you want it in or size. This size shown is for $9.95

This was especially made for sensitive skin. It is their calamine-based cleansing bar.
It contains:
-Chamomile Extract to calm the skin
-Rose and Lavender to smooth dry patches
and
-Tea Tree to clear up any blemishes

If you have irritated skin with blemishes and redness, this is for you. That is the main reason why I got it because I have a lot of redness and blemishes from acne I have had before. It has a light foam which does not bother the skin at all, mainly why it is for sensitive skin, and after you wash it off, it leaves your skin feeling amazingly soft. I can't explain how much I love this product. I always wake up excited to use this product and before bed haha I love the feeling of it as I apply it and rub it on my face gently. This is meant to be used daily, every morning and before going to bed. Create a lather in your hands and gently massage into face, then rinse your face with warm water, pat your face dry and then feel your skin.. you will fall in love. I never ever used soap on my face but this cleansing bar is my first soap bar I have used and loved and I will continue to use it. :)

The second product I was recommended was the OCEAN SALT face and body scrub

This is a coconut cream and sea salt scrub that can be used on the body as well as the face. I usually use it on my face and sometimes on my body when I feel like it. There is one very important thing to know about this product however.. If you have very sensitive skin like me, I was told to use this ONLY 2-3 times a week as it will irritate it if I use it every single day. It is a scrub so you do not want to scratch your skin with it using it daily because it can be harsh if you don't use it properly.

This scrub gives you a glowing complexion.
It has minerals that scrub away the dirt and dry skin built up on your skin which can cause skin problems such as acne and pore blockage.

It contains:
-Fresh Avocado and Coconut to hydrate the skin
-Lime and Vodka for blocked pores and blackheads

This is a good exfoliator to clean away the dirt and dead skin but if I were to rate it out of 5 stars, I would give it 3 because I do not really like the burning sensation it gives my skin when I use it especially when I have pimples and when I use it on that it makes it bleed (ouch I know) overall it does leave your skin feeling very soft and I recommend you using this product only 2-3 times a week so it doesn't irritate your skin.

LUSH products are my new favorite brand nowadays. They do not only have things for skin but for hair, body, and bath. They have the cutest things in all shapes and sizes. They are colorful too so when you walk in, it's so colorful and the products look like CANDY!! Yes!! Yummyy.. hehe
I love going to LUSH. I know I have only tried two of their products but I like them so I'm sure it won't hurt to try more. I will definitely be purchasing other things like the hair products because I need healthy hair. I am happy I came across their brand and I am even happier that I finally had given their products a try. Like they say DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER and that is exactly what I did and I was wrong about them.. Sorry LUSH!! I honestly love you now :P
So if any of you lovelies need to go grab something affordable for you hair, skin, or bath.. LUSH is the one! The products are super cute, gentle, colorful, and smell good.. Well SOME smell good not all but it's always the nasty smelling products that work great and I have noticed that. They are worth it though, it doesn't hurt to try.
Anyways, I hope everyone liked my review on these two products and I hope to try more soon and write more reviews on them.
So next time you go to the mall, remember to stop by LUSH and check them out ;)
If you have any other questions about the products, please feel free to ask.

Lots of Love,
Sahira
xoxo
