My Foundation Routine

Hey Dolls!
So I have been wanting to share my foundation routine for a while now and since I am bored on a Sunday night, thought why not.
Also this has been requested by some girls because I am always getting told that my makeup foundation looks on point and makes my skin look flawless. Well I will say that my skin is NOT flawless. I have flaws but then again who doesn't. Embrace your flaws and be happy with how you are no matter what the flaw is because God made us all beautiful and unique in our own way.
I am one of those girls who is insecure about her acne and suffering from it, I have been left with nasty scars :( and I tried and am still trying to get rid of them by eating healthy and drinking LOTS of water! Yes water is heaven for your skin so make sure you drink lots of it... I know I am.
I don't break out as much as I did before but like I said I have scars left from previous acne and trust me I cant go out with them visible so I looked into many foundations that would be right for my skin and wont make it worse. I have used so many different ones from high brand to drug store brand and when I found THE one... I fell in LOVE!!!

It isn't a high brand but it's actually a drug store brand and very inexpensive.
It is the one and only
Revlon Colorstay 24 Hour Foundation for combination/oily skin.
I'm sure you've all heard of it because it is a very famous foundation used by many people.
It looks like this...

1. My shade in this foundation is 250 Fresh Beige and it is 1.0 fl oz. I get this foundation from Target for $9.99 and that honestly is a deal because this foundation is AMAZING!!!
It is perfect for my skin which is acne prone, oily, can get dry at times and it is medium to full coverage so it can cover my acne scars perfectly. It doesn't make you seem cakey and it isn't oily either so you have that shine at the end of the day like you would from some foundations.
It lasts all day long so you don't have to touch up your makeup because nothing will happen to it and your face will stay shine free and flawless all day! This honestly is my most favorite foundation and I won't ever switch to another one. I swear by this foundation and will continue to use it for as long as I can. Another thing I like about this foundation is that it comes in a lot of different shades so you wont ever have to worry about not being able to find your shade. They have a wide variety of it so that's the best part. If I had to rate this out of stars, I would give it 100 haha seriously the best foundation I have ever come across. So that is the first part of my foundation routine. Of course I moisturize my face before I put the foundation on.

2. The next step is the concealer. I use 3 different concealers for 3 different reasons.
The first one I use if for my eyelids and under eyes which is the MAC Studio Finish concealer SPF 35 and my shade is NC30. It is around $19 for a little pot of concealer but I promise it's worth it. This is my fourth pot, I am obsessed with it. One thing is though, I wouldn't use this all over my face because MAC has a downside to their face products.. they make you break out very easily cuz of the heavy chemicals used and it isn't oil free or anything. I only use it under my eyes and a little on my eyelids to cover my dark circles.

3. The third step to the routine is another concealer but this concealer is very special. It is by em cosmetics by +Michelle Phan The reason this concealer is very special is because it is one of the BEST concealers I have ever come across. When I first heard about her concealer and what it does, I just had to get my hands on it. I couldn't wait for her makeup line just because of this concealer.
It's called the great cover up ultimate concealer and as you can tell by the name, yes it IS the great cover up. You can cover any kind of scar on your face or freckles, anything with this baby. It is $15 and comes in a small tube of about 0.3 fl oz and my shade is called light warm. This is my holy grail concealer for my acne scars. Even if I have those days where I don't feel like using foundation, I take a pea size amount of this concealer and dab it on the areas I feel like I need it and then blend it out all over my face with a stippling brush and I'm set. I take this concealer wherever I go to touch up if I have to but one thing I don't like about it is that it makes your skin look oily if you use it alone unless you use a good powder to set it. There's always a solution for that so still, it is my fave and I definitely need to stock up on more of these. It is worth every penny!

4. The third concealer which I use for my fourth step is for highlighting under my eyes and for that I use the Maybelline Super Stay 24 hour concealer in the shade Ivory. I use the lightest color mainly for highlighting under the eyes so I can get rid of that sleepy look and have a fresh bright look to make it look refreshing. I dot a few dots under my eyes and then use a  setting brush to blend it. I am in the search for a good highlighter for under my eyes but for now I will stick to this because it still gives me the bright look.
To set the concealer I use the NYX HD studio Photogenic finishing powder so that it doesn't crease. It is an alright finishing powder but I don't like how it is a pure white powder cuz then it makes you look like a ghost so I use very little of it and I wouldn't recommend using it all over your face unless you use a very small amount to set your powder. I will stick to using it to set my concealer under my eyes. This is $10.00 and I would give it a 2 out of 5 stars. I need to invest in a good finishing powder as well.

5. Last step is the powder which is for all over the face and I use the L'Oreal true match powder in W3 nude beige. It is 0.33 oz and I think it's about $10 so it's not a bad price because it is a good face powder. I have tried their foundation before but I didn't like it so I was hesitating between buying this powder or not but I'm glad I bought it because its a good powder. It won't make you look or feel cakey and it comes in many shades to choose from. I used to use the MAC mineral skinfinish powder in medium but I felt like that was too cakey for everyday use so I switched to this for daily use but still use the MAC one if I have to do my full face makeup for something special only.

So that is basically my foundation routine. It may seem a lot but I can do my face in like 5 minutes and it will look flawless all day without having to touch up anything.
I use the +realtechniques brushes for everything from applying my foundation to concealer and powder.

(From left to right: the blush brush I use for the powder at the end, the middle brush is the expert face brush which I use for my foundation, and the last one is the setting brush which I use for the concealer and finishing powder)
These brushes are SO good, I highly recommend them. They are not harsh on your skin and blend everything so well. My favorite brush has to be the expert face brush because it blends my foundation so well, I like it more than the beauty blender. Awesome brushes and very affordable.

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed making it.
I'm glad I got to share my foundation routine and if you have any recommendations, please let me know. I'm all about trying new things!
Thank you

xoxo

NYX Liquid Illuminators

It has been a while since I started buying lots of +NYX Cosmetics and I have to say I am very impressed. They honestly never fail to make me fall in love with their products every time I buy something from their brand.
I always like trying new things and since +ULTA Beauty has their sale Buy 1 Get 1 50% off nowadays, I am always in the +NYX Cosmetics section.

I picked up two Liquid Illuminators which caught my eye because it says on the packaging "Born To Glow" and I mean who doesn't like that gorgeous glow on their face when you have makeup on. So I thought I would give them a try and I got both of them since they were buy one get one half off.
The original price is $7.50. I got one in the original price and the second one I got half off so it was like $3.75 which isn't bad.
There are only two available anyways and I got both in Gleam and Sunbeam.

Now what they are actually meant to be used for are all over the face alone or mixed with a foundation but I wouldn't recommend that because they are really shimmery and you don't want to use it all over your face and end up looking like Edward from Twilight.. yeah definitely not.
As you can tell, one of them (the left one) is 0.5 fl oz and the one on the right is 0.6 fl oz and I don't know why but there is more of the light one than the dark.
I feel like these can be best used for highlighting especially for the cheekbones to make them pop with a bit of shimmer and this is the perfect product for that.

This one is called Sunbeam and you get a bit more of this than the other one. It gives a gorgeous glow and trust me a little comes a long way so DO NOT use so much of the product or it will make your face way too shimmery and it just won't look good.

This one is called Gleam and to be honest, this one is my favorite from both of them because it isn't as bright as the other one. This one has more of  natural glow and is good for girls with brown skin like me. I love the highlighting effect it gives on the cheekbones and gives a healthy glow to your face. You don't get much of this but like I said a little goes a long way.

Here are the swatches for both of the illuminators and as you can tell Sunbeam is a very light shimmery color and the Gleam is a bit darker more natural looking and I myself prefer the darker one. I only like using it on my cheekbones to give it a highlight effect. I am sorry I don't have pictures of it actually on my cheeks but I will try to upload one when I use it on my instagram page. But I hope this was somewhat helpful and if I were to rate this product,
I would give it a 3 out of 5 stars.

xoxo

Wet n Wild Mega Last Lipsticks

A girl can never have enough lipsticks in her life.. right?! Especially when you find them on sale and they turn out to be some amazing lipsticks. Yes, that's what happened to me.

I went to Walgreens and just to check out what makeup is on sale since I heard they were having a sale on a lot of makeup. I have been wanting these wet n wild lipsticks since one of my followers on instagram posted a picture of hers and told how much she loved them, so I just had to get my hands on them. Luckily, I had found them at Walgreens and the best part was that they were on sale!

The original price was I think $2.20 and they had dropped down to $1.50 which is not bad because these lipsticks are gorgeous and I love them so much! You can compare them to mac matte lipsticks which are $16 so these are like dupes which are pretty amazing. Yeah, maybe the price might make you think they wont be of good quality but trust me, they come on very pretty. They are semi matte and have a creamy texture so they leave your lips feeling soft and hydrated.

They were all mostly gone and I couldn't get a few colors but the ones I was able to get my hands on, are very pretty. One of them called Cherry Picking is definitely a dupe for Pleasure Bomb by MAC from the Rihanna Holiday Collection. The others I am not sure of exactly.

If you find these lipsticks anywhere, I suggest you get them because they are such lovely colors and perfect for spring!

Skin Moisturizers

Hey dolls! I am going to share some more skin care products I like to use on a daily basis.
There are so many things out there but it is always about the type of skin you have which helps you to determine what products are safe for your skin especially if you are like me who suffered/suffers from acne. Bummer!

I love makeup so I always play around with it and I do wear makeup a lot so I make sure I take care of it very good since makeup can break you out if you don't choose the right products.

ALWAYS make sure the makeup you buy such as foundation, powder, etc. is oil free and non comedogenic.

Before I apply and makeup product on my face, I use a moisturizer. Now to choose the best moisturizer, focus on how your skin is. Is it oily or dry? Acne prone or not?
Mine is oily so I always make sure the products I buy are OIL FREE because you don't want excess oil do you? I'm sure not. Then there are people who don't have oily skin but have excessively dry skin which can also be irritating. For dry skin, you would need something that is oil based so because your skin needs that oil to make it less dry.

Since I have oily skin, I use an oil free moisturizer by Neutrogena and has SPF 15. It is 4 fl oz and is $9.99.
It wont clog pores, is alcohol free, fragrance free so it has no smell at all, and it is hypoallergenic. I always use this before I apply makeup so that the natural oils on my skin wont make my makeup look shiny so this moisturizer helps to stop the shine and it makes my makeup look flawless all day long.

That is for oily skin but if you have dry skin, you might want to look into products that will protect your skin from the sun and restore your skins natural barrier so the dryness can lessen. A really good one that I recommend is by +CeraVe Skincare and it is called the AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion which has SPF 30 and it is for normal to dry skin but you can find it in other ranges too depending on your skin. This is also non-comedogenic and from the AM, you can tell that it is used in the morning but there is one for PM.

Another one of my favorites and also the last one will have to be the +Cetaphil Daily Moisturizer with sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15. This was the moisturizer that was recommended to me by my dermatologist when I was dealing with severe acne. He told me this wouldn't irritate my skin and would help protect my skin in the sun. This is the one for ALL skin types which makes everything easier because you wont have to be looking for a specific one for your skin type. It is non-comedogenic, non-greasy, lightweight, and has no fragrance. It comes in a 4 fl oz bottle and is also around $10 (don't know the exact price sorry) but I know it's not more than $10.

Well these are the products I use before applying makeup to protect my skin and also keep it safe under the sun. Always make sure you moisturize everyday because your skin needs it whether it is in the morning before you go out or at night before you sleep. Moisturizing is good for the skin!

My Skin Care Routine

Hi everyone! Today I am going to be sharing my skin care routine with you. I have dealt with severe acne cases during my teens and scars which I still have from the inflammations. My skin is acne prone, oily, and has scars from previous breakouts. I have even went through cystic acne which is honestly very bad and I am so happy I don't have to deal with that anymore. You know why? Because I learned how to take care of my skin. I will do a post on skin care soon but this is all about how +Dermalogica  changed my life.
I am so glad I came across their products because they are AMAZING. They are definitely not cheap. They are expensive but I promise you they are worth the price and when you have bad skin, trust me you will do anything it takes to clear it up lol
Okay so I use four +Dermalogica  products and they are listed as how I use them in order:

1. Clearing Skin Wash 8.4 oz and it is $36.00
I use this right after I take my makeup off and use it gently on my face and wash it off it warm water.

2. Daily Microfoliant 2.6 oz and it is $52.00
It is a powder like substance and it helps your skin to brighten up. If you have sensitive skin like me, use it very gently. It is for all skin conditions.

3. Oil Control Lotion 2 oz and it is $42.00
It is a moisturizer and it stops your skin from shining. I usually use this before I put makeup on so it doesn't make my skin look so shiny since I have really oily skin.

4. Sebum Clearing Masque 2.5 oz and it is $45.00
This is my FAVORITE product by them. I absolutely love it.
You can use this all over your face and leave it on for 10-15 mins and then wash it off with warm water, but what I do is, if I have a breakout, before I got to sleep, I dot it all over my face wherever I feel like a pimple is about to come or if there is one there already and I sleep with it on. When I wake up, I wash it and either the pimple has dried out or it is completely gone. This works wonders and I am out of it so I need to go get some more! This is a must have product. I promise you will love it. Just remember not to put it all over your face like a masque before you go to sleep. Only dot your face.

So yes these are my skin care products and that's the routine above I use on a daily basis every morning and night. You will see a difference if you keep up with the routine. If I have then you will too. Never have I been happier with my skin as I am today. Thank you +Dermalogica :)
