My Foundation Routine

Hey Dolls!
So I have been wanting to share my foundation routine for a while now and since I am bored on a Sunday night, thought why not.
Also this has been requested by some girls because I am always getting told that my makeup foundation looks on point and makes my skin look flawless. Well I will say that my skin is NOT flawless. I have flaws but then again who doesn't. Embrace your flaws and be happy with how you are no matter what the flaw is because God made us all beautiful and unique in our own way.
I am one of those girls who is insecure about her acne and suffering from it, I have been left with nasty scars :( and I tried and am still trying to get rid of them by eating healthy and drinking LOTS of water! Yes water is heaven for your skin so make sure you drink lots of it... I know I am.
I don't break out as much as I did before but like I said I have scars left from previous acne and trust me I cant go out with them visible so I looked into many foundations that would be right for my skin and wont make it worse. I have used so many different ones from high brand to drug store brand and when I found THE one... I fell in LOVE!!!

It isn't a high brand but it's actually a drug store brand and very inexpensive.
It is the one and only
Revlon Colorstay 24 Hour Foundation for combination/oily skin.
I'm sure you've all heard of it because it is a very famous foundation used by many people.
It looks like this...

1. My shade in this foundation is 250 Fresh Beige and it is 1.0 fl oz. I get this foundation from Target for $9.99 and that honestly is a deal because this foundation is AMAZING!!!
It is perfect for my skin which is acne prone, oily, can get dry at times and it is medium to full coverage so it can cover my acne scars perfectly. It doesn't make you seem cakey and it isn't oily either so you have that shine at the end of the day like you would from some foundations.
It lasts all day long so you don't have to touch up your makeup because nothing will happen to it and your face will stay shine free and flawless all day! This honestly is my most favorite foundation and I won't ever switch to another one. I swear by this foundation and will continue to use it for as long as I can. Another thing I like about this foundation is that it comes in a lot of different shades so you wont ever have to worry about not being able to find your shade. They have a wide variety of it so that's the best part. If I had to rate this out of stars, I would give it 100 haha seriously the best foundation I have ever come across. So that is the first part of my foundation routine. Of course I moisturize my face before I put the foundation on.

2. The next step is the concealer. I use 3 different concealers for 3 different reasons.
The first one I use if for my eyelids and under eyes which is the MAC Studio Finish concealer SPF 35 and my shade is NC30. It is around $19 for a little pot of concealer but I promise it's worth it. This is my fourth pot, I am obsessed with it. One thing is though, I wouldn't use this all over my face because MAC has a downside to their face products.. they make you break out very easily cuz of the heavy chemicals used and it isn't oil free or anything. I only use it under my eyes and a little on my eyelids to cover my dark circles.

3. The third step to the routine is another concealer but this concealer is very special. It is by em cosmetics by +Michelle Phan The reason this concealer is very special is because it is one of the BEST concealers I have ever come across. When I first heard about her concealer and what it does, I just had to get my hands on it. I couldn't wait for her makeup line just because of this concealer.
It's called the great cover up ultimate concealer and as you can tell by the name, yes it IS the great cover up. You can cover any kind of scar on your face or freckles, anything with this baby. It is $15 and comes in a small tube of about 0.3 fl oz and my shade is called light warm. This is my holy grail concealer for my acne scars. Even if I have those days where I don't feel like using foundation, I take a pea size amount of this concealer and dab it on the areas I feel like I need it and then blend it out all over my face with a stippling brush and I'm set. I take this concealer wherever I go to touch up if I have to but one thing I don't like about it is that it makes your skin look oily if you use it alone unless you use a good powder to set it. There's always a solution for that so still, it is my fave and I definitely need to stock up on more of these. It is worth every penny!

4. The third concealer which I use for my fourth step is for highlighting under my eyes and for that I use the Maybelline Super Stay 24 hour concealer in the shade Ivory. I use the lightest color mainly for highlighting under the eyes so I can get rid of that sleepy look and have a fresh bright look to make it look refreshing. I dot a few dots under my eyes and then use a  setting brush to blend it. I am in the search for a good highlighter for under my eyes but for now I will stick to this because it still gives me the bright look.
To set the concealer I use the NYX HD studio Photogenic finishing powder so that it doesn't crease. It is an alright finishing powder but I don't like how it is a pure white powder cuz then it makes you look like a ghost so I use very little of it and I wouldn't recommend using it all over your face unless you use a very small amount to set your powder. I will stick to using it to set my concealer under my eyes. This is $10.00 and I would give it a 2 out of 5 stars. I need to invest in a good finishing powder as well.

5. Last step is the powder which is for all over the face and I use the L'Oreal true match powder in W3 nude beige. It is 0.33 oz and I think it's about $10 so it's not a bad price because it is a good face powder. I have tried their foundation before but I didn't like it so I was hesitating between buying this powder or not but I'm glad I bought it because its a good powder. It won't make you look or feel cakey and it comes in many shades to choose from. I used to use the MAC mineral skinfinish powder in medium but I felt like that was too cakey for everyday use so I switched to this for daily use but still use the MAC one if I have to do my full face makeup for something special only.

So that is basically my foundation routine. It may seem a lot but I can do my face in like 5 minutes and it will look flawless all day without having to touch up anything.
I use the +realtechniques brushes for everything from applying my foundation to concealer and powder.

(From left to right: the blush brush I use for the powder at the end, the middle brush is the expert face brush which I use for my foundation, and the last one is the setting brush which I use for the concealer and finishing powder)
These brushes are SO good, I highly recommend them. They are not harsh on your skin and blend everything so well. My favorite brush has to be the expert face brush because it blends my foundation so well, I like it more than the beauty blender. Awesome brushes and very affordable.

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed making it.
I'm glad I got to share my foundation routine and if you have any recommendations, please let me know. I'm all about trying new things!
Thank you

xoxo
